Mr. McBride's Insect Tips

Here are some good locations to find a lot of insects. One good thing to do is pull up rocks and logs and look under them, you will find more insects this way then just looking for flying insects. If you are catching butterflies avoid touching the wings you will leave finger prints on your specimens. The best way to store butterflies is in wax paper envelopes, which you can make out of  wax paper or use regular envelopes and line the inside with wax paper.

You can find tiger beetles along the river, 

Nielsen's Grove Park
There are a lot of flowers which means flying insects bring a bug net
South Fork Park
You will find more things in the woods around the park than in the park.
You can find termites under rocks and logs around the amphitheater

Provo Canyon
Most of the parks are good places just remember in the woods is better then on the park itself
