Bell Ringer: You find a multicellular, heterotroph with cell walls. Which kingdom does it belong in?
Today students looked at a variety of items and classified them as:
Alive-have 7 characterisitics of life
Alive but dormant-seeds, yeast, etc.
Dead- once alive, not dormant
Product of a Living Organism- milk, feathers, etc.
Never Alive-most rocks
Next we watched this short video clip and then the students wrote a letter to Theo Jansen explaining why his "creatures" are not living. Then we reviewed the 6 kingdoms of life using this powerpoint. Last of all, student completed this worksheet on variables and controls.
