Bell Ringer: We took data from our pizza experiment. Get information from a classmate.
Next, I did some water demos and we talked about the properties of water and listed them in our notebooks:
Polarity: unequal sharing of electrons resulting in a weak charge
Hydrogen bonding: bonding between water molecules
Cohesion: Water to water bonds
Adhesion: Water bonding with another substance
Capillary action: Water moving against gravity in a small tube
Temperature moderation: it takes a lot of energy in order to cause a change in water temperature.
Solvent: water is able to dissolve other polar substances
We also discussed why these characteristics are important to life.
Then we completed Chapter 3 notes using our textbooks.
Make Up: Bell Ringer, properties of water notes, chapter 3 notes
